Evelyn adds tech specialist to board in digital push
Financial Planning and wealth management firm Evelyn Partners has added technology specialist Kjersti Wiklund to its board as part of its digital innovation drive.
Norwegian national Ms Wiklund joins the firm as a non-executive director.
During her executive career she held a number of senior leadership roles at technology countries in a variety of countries including Vodafone in the UK, Kyivstar in Ukraine, VimpelCom Russia, Digi Telecommunications in Malaysia, and Telenor in Norway.
She is also currently a non-executive director at Nordic financial services group Nordea.
Ms Wiklund is also a non-executive director of defense technology and services firm Babcock International but will step down at the firm’s next AGM.
She holds a Masters in Business Management degree from the BI Norwegian Business School where she is now a member of the international advisory board.
Chris Grigg, chair of Evelyn Partners, said Ms Wiklund will provide the Financial Planning firm with key knowledge and insight for its digital innovation programme.
He said: “We are delighted to welcome Kjersti to the Board of Evelyn Partners. She joins at a key moment for the group, having successfully completed the integration of Tilney and Smith & Williamson and recently moved to a new, unified brand.
“Kjersti has an outstanding business track record and brings considerable knowledge and acumen in using technology to drive change. I am very confident that her insights will prove invaluable to Evelyn Partners as we continue to progress with our ongoing programme of digital innovation.”
The Newcastle-based Chartered Financial Planning firm joined under Evelyn’s succession programme.
The acquisition of Scholes & Brown is one of several for Evelyn under its succession scheme so far this year.
The wealth manager and Financial Planner acquired Buckinghamshire-based Financial Planning firm 2hWealthcare under the succession scheme last month.
The succession scheme was launched towards the end of last year.
Other firms to join Evelyn Partners under their succession programme include Glasgow-based Equilibrium Financial Consultancy, Capital Risk Management, and MP2 Financial.
The wealth manager and Financial Planner rebranded to Evelyn Partners from Tilney Smith & Williamson earlier this year.
