Marking the Queen’s funeral
The next issue of Financial Planning Today magazine, due to be published this week, has been deferred to next week until after the Queen’s funeral.
The decision has been taken as a mark of respect for the Queen whose funeral is due to take place on Monday 19 September, the government confirmed at the weekend.
The next issue of Financial Planning Today magazine includes our annual Financial Planning profession survey and will now be published on Wednesday 21 September.
As a mark of respect on Monday 19 September, now an official Bank Holiday, Financial Planning Today will suspend daily news coverage and pause all regular emails and social media. The website will continue to be available.
Many other announcements and events planned for this week have been postponed until after the funeral, including the next Base Rate announcement by the Bank of England which has now been deferred until 22 Sept.
Kevin O’Donnell, editor of Financial Planning Today, said: “We know that many, many of our readers have been saddened and shocked by the death of the Queen and have been marking this sad event in their own way and with their own tributes.
“We also know that many will want to watch the funeral on television and to mark the event so we wished to ensure that, in at least a small way, we did our utmost to avoid any distractions on the day of the funeral itself.”
“We would like to thank our magazine advertisers and contributors for agreeing to the magazine being deferred for one week.”
