While the transition to home working has trebled in three years, rising from 7% in 2023 to 21% of readers working exclusively remotely in 2026, the figure has fallen slightly from 23% last year.
Flexible working appears to be growing in popularity, with almost a third (29%) of Financial Planners now changing their work location and structure from week to week. That is considerable growth from the one in five reported last year.
The growth in the popularity of flexible working tallies with the UK population as a whole, where 22% of workers prioritise hybrid working above other benefits, according to pension provider Penfold.
Meanwhile this year’s survey shows that three quarters of readers say they are already using (53%) or considering using (22%) artificial intelligence (AI) in their businesses. Just 25% of Financial Planners said they would not consider using AI, in comparison to a third last year.
The survey is published in the latest issue of Financial Planning Today magazine which is out now.
