Bath-based Financial Planner and wealth manager Fidelius appoints Paul Gordon to lead its expanding medical Financial Planning arm.
Paul Gordon has joined the business as head of medical and was previously at Atomos Wealth, where he was head of medical specialist wealth planning.
He has more than 25 years of experience advising medical professionals, including on the NHS Pension scheme, as well as inheritance tax planning, protection and retirement planning.
He began his advice career in 2000, working as an independent financial adviser for BMA Services.
Sophie Stradins has also joined Fidelius as a financial adviser and is the first adviser appointed to support Fidelius’ expansion into the North West. She will play a key role in establishing and growing a new regional office, building a loyal client base and developing a local team.
The firm is backed by Sweden's Söderberg & Partners which has invested in many UK Financial Planning firms.
Steve Skelding, head of commercial at Fidelius, said: “I am thrilled to welcome Paul Gordon and Sophie Stradin into the Fidelius family. Paul has a long and distinguished career and has an incredible depth of knowledge in Financial Planning for medical professionals. He is a fantastic addition to our business.
“Sophie Stradins is an excellent financial adviser who has spent more than five years developing her technical expertise and long-term client relationships and is now working towards Chartered status. With a particular passion for retirement and post-business sale planning, Sophie brings ambition and a fresh perspective to Fidelius.
Mr Gordon said he was delighted to join Fidelius as it looks to expand the service it offers to medical professionals, who typically have specific Financial Planning needs.
He said: "Navigating the complex world of NHS pensions and retirement planning for practice owners requires specialists, and it’s pleasing to see Fidelius investing resources in this area. I look forward to helping Fidelius clients in the medical sphere meet their financial goals with specialist advice and support.”
Sophie Stradins added: “I am proud to have been trusted to assist in leading Fidelius’ North West growth strategy. We anticipate that this region will be an increasingly important focus for our business in future and I look forward to forging strong relationships and finding ways Fidelius can bring its unique service to new local clients.”
Both new recruits will become shareholders in the business.
