Bath-based Financial Planner and wealth manager Fidelius has appointed Chartered Financial Planner James Martin to its Financial Planning team.
He has joined the firm from City Asset Management in London where he spent 10 years as a Financial Planning consultant.
At City Asset Mr James worked with high net worth individuals, business owners, medical and legal professionals and celebrities.
His appointment follows that of Marc Carpenter, who joined Fidelius in June as a Chartered Financial Planner to shore up the firm’s presence in the North West.
Mr Carpenter has 12 years’ experience and was previously a retirement consultant and a mortgage adviser. He is focused on establishing and growing a new regional office, building a loyal client base and developing a local team alongside Sophie Stradins, who joined Fidelius as a Financial Adviser in March.
The firm said the appointments were part of an ongoing strategy to grow and strengthen the business, with support from Swedish wealth group Sӧderberg & Partners, which took a stake in Fidelius in 2024.
Mr Martin said: “I joined Fidelius as I connected with the management of the firm and I had a shared desire for client outcome-led advice. It is a growing company and I feel it is a great opportunity to help shape that growth and develop personally alongside the company.”
Fidelius is an objective-based Financial Planning firm headquartered in Bath but with a national footprint, with offices across the UK in Cheltenham, Chelmsford, and Nottingham.
Launched in 1998, It has grown through both organic and M&A expansion. The company has around 170 employees and offers services including Wealth Management, Retirement Planning, Protection Planning, Employee Benefits, and Mortgages.
In June it launched a joint venture wealth firm with London law firm Lawrence Stephens. The new venture, known as LS Wealth, is a trading style of Fidelius.
Last year Fidelius became an exclusive partner to the British Medical Association, providing access to financial advice to its 200,000 members.
This year, Fidelius appointed Paul Gordon who joined from Atomos Wealth to head Fidelius’ specialist medical wealth planning arm.
Recently, Fidelius announced its sponsorship of Row for Life, a three-woman Pacific crossing to raise vital funds for Cancer Research UK.
