Financial Planner donates technology to schools
Fast-growing Financial Planner Perspective Financial Group has donated a substantial amount of IT equipment to help disadvantaged pupils with their education during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Financial Planner has partnered with Business2Schools, a charity founded in 2019.
Perspective has donated PCs, laptops and monitors to schools near its offices across the UK.
The donation follows Perspective making an investment into its IT infrastructure, leading to a large quantity of IT equipment becomes surplus to requirements.
School leaders have expressed fears that disadvantaged pupils have been missing out on teaching during the Coronavirus pandemic due to a lack of IT equipment available for them to use. MPs have called on businesses to donate laptops and PCs and have asked the government for extra funding to make sure schools are able to support pupils the best they can.
Ian Wilkinson, CEO of Perspective Financial Group, said: “It’s the right thing to do to help others, as well as fulfilling our corporate social responsibility and environmental goals. This is a real win-win which gives us great satisfaction, and an effective way to re-purpose for our IT kit.
“We have all heard so much about the challenges of education during Covid-19, particularly for disadvantaged pupils, where lack of access to digital technology can be a significant barrier to effective learning.
“We are delighted to be involved in this initiative and to be giving a helping hand to future generations, as well making a better impact on the environment.
“It’s been great working in partnership with Business2Schools, who have provided us with the confidence to repurpose our IT kit in a secure and well managed way that will make a real impact on local schools and their pupils.”
Earlier this month, Perspective acquired Wiltshire-based financial adviser Jones Hill, adding £44m in assets to the group.
The acquisition was Perspective’s 36th since it was founded in 2008, and its first since CBPE Capital LLP invested in the business in December.
Perspective has 15 offices in the UK with 180 staff and 18,000 clients.
