Friends Life platform encourages workplace saving
Friends Life has launched its workplace savings platform offering pensions, cash and stocks and shares Isas and investment accounts.
The online ‘My Money’ platform, which is targeted at large firms, allows employers to offer pension and non-pension savings in one place.
The platform can be tailored to individual employer needs through bespoke pricing, proposition and branding options.
It will also offer risk profiling, cashflow forecasting and track and compare funds to help members analyse the performance of their funds.
Friends Life hopes the platform will help to ‘combat the apathy and inertia towards pensions’ and encourage self-reliance and personal management of finances.
Earlier research by Friends Life found that 87 per cent of people thought it was up to their employer to provide a good pension and 32 per cent were not saving for a pension.
Friends Life managing director of corporate benefits Colin Williams said: “Workplace savings have been left behind by high street banking when it comes to new technologies, but it’s now time to catch up and make long term saving accessible, understandable and relevant.
“Our new platform will challenge the traditional lack of engagement by employees in future Financial Planning by enabling employers to offer pensions, Isas and investment accounts through an easy to use interactive online service.”
