The number of CFP professionals worldwide has reached a record 153,376, the US-based Financial Planning Standards Board has announced.
Following the news last week that Joanna Hague CFP became the UK's 1,000th CFP professional, the FPSB released its latest figures showing a 3.76 percent increase from last year.
Almost 5,500 CFP professionals were added to the ranks across the globe in 2013.
For the second year running, FPSB's member organisation in the US and China had the highest rises. The US grew by 1,886 and China by 1,782.
Japan was third in terms of annual growth, adding 628 CFP professionals.

Noel Maye, FPSB chief executive, said: "It's clear that the concept of Financial Planning and the value of CFP certification has taken hold globally.
"With more than 150,000 CFP professionals committed to rigorous standards of
competency, ethics and professionalism, the global Financial Planning profession stands ready to put clients' interests first and assist them in achieving their financial and life goals."
Mr Maye said he was proud of the organisation's growth.
Since 2002, FPSB has increased the number of territories offering CFP certification from 17 to 25 and the number of CFP professionals has more than doubled during that time.
The US, China, Japan and Canada contain 82 percent of the world's CFP professionals.
The Brazil organisation grew by nearly 40 percent in 2013 by adding 356 CFP professionals.
Members in South Africa, the Republic of Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia and India all added more than 100 professionals each.
