IFP Board announces new members and departures from the Board
The Institute of Financial Planning has officially announced changes to its board with the arrival of new directors including the first independent outside director and the departure of some familiar faces ending their terms.
At its Annual General Meeting held on 3 October at the IFP annual conference, it was announced that Andrew Brook-Dobson CFPCM from Brook Dobson Brear and also Leeds Branch Chairman and Simon Boulter CFPCM from BoulterBowen WealthCare would be joining the Board.
Rebecca Taylor FIFP, CFPCM and Neil Bailey FIFP CFPCM were re-elected to the board.
Immediate past IFP president Barry Horner CFPCM stepped down from the Board, as did member Keri Carter CFPCM.
Marlene Shalton FIFP CFPCM, IFP president, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Simon and Andrew to the board and offer my congratulations to Neil and Becky upon their re-election.
“The next few years will be so exciting for the Financial Planning profession and their input to the strategy and direction that the Board provides to IFP will be invaluable.”
The IFP also added Richard Antrum as non-executive director. Mr Antrum was formerly head of marketing for retail chain Peacocks. He will support the IFP Board in achieving its strategic objective.
Ms Shalton said: “Mr Antrum has very vast experience and is consumer-focused. He will challenge us on our strategy and will ask us ‘How is Financial Planning being presented to the consumer?’”
