IFP Fellows Day 2012 taking place tomorrow in Worcestershire
Fellows of the Institute of Financial Planning will be gathering in Worcestershire tomorrow for the annual IFP Fellows Day.
The one-day conference and dinner will see Fellows sharing information at the highest level and discussing new ideas for the profession.
Speakers include former IFP President Jane Wheeler FIFP CFPCM, Bob Freeman from Voyant, IFP board member Richard Antrum and Richard Gough FIFP CFPCM.
They will discuss topics such as how to assess clients’ capacity for loss, Monte Carlo simulations and Statements of Professional Standing.
At the end of the day Ms Wheeler will chair a discussion about the future of the IFP Fellowship. This will cover the election of a chair and vice-chair for the Fellowship, fellow services to the IFP, training on writing white papers and how the Fellowship will work going forward.
The event will end with a drinks reception and dinner.
There are currently 77 IFP Fellows and it is regarded as one of the most prestigious qualifications for Financial Planners.
Fellows must have five years financial related experience and take two exams on personal Financial Planning and planning for business owners.
These cover the process of personal Financial Planning, calculations incorporating compound interest and the time value of money, personal investment planning, cash and credit and/or debt management.
It also covers planning for retirement, estate planning, Financial Planning for the business owner, protection products, savings and investment products and long term care products.
