In June, the annual IFP Fellows' Day was held in Warwickshire. It was chaired jointly by Fellows Ian O'Connor FIFP, CFPCM and Francis Klonowski FIFP, CFPCM.
During the day, Fellows agreed two important development areas where they will use their experience, knowledge and skills as thought leaders in the profession to provide expert input and help to IFP members. These are :
To produce a series of Best Practice Briefing Papers to be posted on the IFP website. These will form a library of useful Financial Planning reference documents that can be used by IFP members, and will be particularly helpful to those embarking on the CFPCM certification process.
To make available on the IFP members' website the Dissertations written by IFP Fellows when graduating through Manchester Metropolitan University. Again the aim is for these to provide useful resources for members andalso to hopefully inspire CFPCM Professionals to take the next step in becoming an IFP Fellow. The papers will be made available from January 2014.
The afternoon agenda was intended to follow the natural order of the Financial Planning process, with Fellows enjoying practical and thought provoking sessions presented by Julie Lord FIFP CFPCM from Bluefin and Robert Lockie FIFP CFPCM from Bloombury Wealth as well as Mr Klonowski and Mr O'Connor.
