Using the campaign title "Great Minds Think Alike," the IFP has launched an awareness campaign to help consumers find out more about Financial Planning and where they can go for trusted professional advice.
As well as issuing a series of press releases over the next few months, and meeting up with key national consumer journalists, the IFP is issuing a new range of educational factsheets to highlight what Financial Planning really is about.
IFP members are encouraged to support the campaign by getting involved with local and national media to talk about Financial Planning - something that will help raise their business profile too. Recently, Accredited Financial Planning FirmsTM Eldon Financial Planning and Jessop Financial Planning among others, have been involved with local radio stations to promote Financial Planning.
Sue Whitbread, communications director at the IFP, is excited about the campaign: "While our Financial Planning Week campaigns have done a good job in starting to raise awareness, we need to go much further if we are to establish Financial Planning as a clear, distinct and professional service that is different to financial advice. The more that IFP members can do to help us get the word out then the greater the impact will be. We'd love to hear from firms who are planning their own PR campaigns."
