IFP praises delegates who raised over £10k for cancer charity
The IFP has applauded attendees at the annual conference held in early October who have now raised over £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Generous delegates and attendees at the Conference Gala Dinner put their hands in their pockets to donate thousands of pounds both in cash and credit card donations. Many later donated through the Just Giving website too and government Gift Aid has topped up the amount raised. The total so far is £10,353 – far exceeding expecations.
IFP communications director Sue Whitbread said: "What a fantastic result! There were so many highlights to be taken away from this year's IFP conference, and this is certainly one of top because of the positive impact it will have.
"Macmillan does such wonderful work and it's great that the Financial Planning profession has supported it so generously on this occasion. Our thanks go to everyone who donated."

Macmillan Cancer Support has already thanked delegates for raising cash which may help pay for Macmillan nursing for two months.
The money will go towards the costs of two Macmillan speech and language therapists for a month too.
Macmillan staff work with people who have language or speech difficulties, or problems swallowing, following surgery or radiotherapy.
A Macmillan information and support unit is another possible beneficiary after donations at the Gala Evening at Celtic Manor Resort, sponsored by Iress, reached a higher amount than expected.
Alice Young, Macmillan fund raising manager for Bristol and South Gloucester, said recently: "I can honestly say I was overwhelmed by the support and welcoming reception from each and every one of the attendees.
"It was a fantastic evening and we'd like to thank everyone involved for their generosity." She thanked the IFP for its support.
