More than 800 hit by CII exam system glitch
Advisers due to sit an exam with the CII yesterday faced technology issues as the remote examination system faced configuration issues.
A total of 830 candidates were booked to sit Monday’s remote invigilation of the three-hour R06 Financial Planning examination.
As a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, Financial Planners are currently able to sit CII exams at home.
The CII system went down when the exam was due to start and some of the Financial Planners sitting the exam turned to Twitter to complain about being unable to access the site.
Gill White, learning & assessment director of the Chartered Insurance Institute, said: “Candidates were affected by a configuration issue, which resulted in a 15-minute delay to the start of the sitting. Candidates were able to log back-in from 9.45am and more than 94 per cent completed the examination.
“The CII would like to reassure those affected by the technical issue that no student will be disadvantaged as a result of the delayed start to their sitting. We will be looking carefully at the level of impact on candidates and take that into account to ensure fair results.
“Any candidate who was unable to log-in yesterday will be allowed to rebook their examination for a future sitting which will take place before October.
“We can reassure candidates scheduled to take other examinations in the coming days via remote invigilation that the log-in issue has been investigated and fixed.”
