New Paraplanner hub set up by firm was inspired by Powwow
The Paraplanners Powwow has inspired a pensions firm to create a new online Paraplanning hub designed to help them access all of the information they need quickly and easily.
Prudential has set up the service on its website, after some of its staff attended September’s national Powwow. The firm was a supporter of the event.
The free to use hub offers a “wealth of technical information”, including generic articles and analysis of legislation and planning angles, dealing with pensions, tax and trusts.
A range of tools and calculators are on offer including showing if a client could be subject to an Annual Allowance charge.
Prudential said the Paraplanners Powwow had been an important driving factor for the hub.
Les Cameron, head of technical at Prudential, said: “The discussions at the Powwow event, along with Prudential’s research, inspired the development and design. One of the frustrations of a busy Paraplanner is that they sometimes can’t find the information they need quickly enough.”
The firm said it recognised that Paraplanners “can be a fundamental part in an adviser’s business” and they are “central to the decision-making process”, supporting on the product, technical and investment due diligence side.
Mr Cameron said: “The hub is designed to bring together useful tools and resources into one place so that busy Paraplanners can find the information they need quickly and easily.
“We used research and feedback from Paraplanners to inform its development and include information that would be useful for them. We’re considering developing the hub in 2017 and will engage with Paraplanners to find out what else they’d like to see.”
The hub also includes up-to-date fund information, calculators, core kit materials and CPD resources and access to Prudential’s online services for illustrations, submissions, new business tracking and individual policy servicing.
