New President appointed at CISI Southern branch
The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment’s Southern branch has a new President.
Kate Nathoo Chartered FCSI, client director at Thesis Asset Management, has been appointed to the role.
Ms Nathoo, who has worked in investment management since graduating from London University, is currently responsible for discretionary investment management for individuals and charities at Thesis.
Ms Nathoo said: “It is a real privilege to have been appointed to this role within the CISI. The regional committee work tirelessly to provide quality CPD events for over 700 members and to also create opportunities for students as we look to attract and retain the region’s brightest talents.
“I would also like to congratulate my predecessor James Stewart Smith for his work in furthering the CISI’s presence within the Southern region. He oversaw the region as President from inception to the present and I look forward to continuing his excellent work.”
The branch committee is responsible for contributing to an annual programme of CPD events. It hosted a EU Referendum debate in mid-June with speakers Keith Churchouse CFTPM Chartered FCSI and Jerome Lussan.
Outside work Kate is a volunteer Samaritan at her local Guildford branch. She is also a trustee of the Guildford Shakespeare Company, reflecting her love of theatre and a commitment to working with young people.
Her firm, Thesis Asset Management, is working with schools hosting students who are on the CISI summer education project. This year the firm hosted students from Wellington and Royal Grammar School Guildford who worked on a project looking at how Brexit could impact on financial services businesses.
The next CISI Southern branch event will be held on 16 November.
