Perspective notches up 9 acquisitions so far this year
Fast-growing national Financial Planning firm Perspective Financial Group has notched up nine acquisitions so far this year, including the acquisition of four client books from its self-employed advisers.
The additions boost its total number of acquisitions to 87 since the group was founded 16 years ago, it said.
Perspective, based in Chorley, Lancashire, made 22 acquisitions in 2023, helping to treble the size of the business in the last five years.
Ian Wilkinson, chief executive, said: “We remain highly active in the acquisitions space and build upon our long-standing reputation as an attractive home for client-centric vendors. This includes the execution of our strategy to acquire the client books of our self-employed advisers, most of whom have been part of our group for many years.”
He said the business sees significant opportunity for more acquisitions in a busy market, “and we expect to maintain this trajectory of acquisitions for the rest of the year and beyond.”
He said the firm is seeing a combination of larger and smaller acquisitions in its pipeline.
The firm’s growth this year has been funded through investment from US-based private equity group Charlesbank Capital Partners.
CBPE invested in the Financial Planning firm in 2019, with Perspective using much of the funding to complete more than 45 acquisitions, all of which have now been fully integrated into the group.
Perspective said as a result of the fresh cash injection from Boston’s Charlesbank, it expects to double in size again within the next two years.
When announcing the tie up, Mr Wilkinson said: “Our vision will see our footprint expand to over 100 offices and at least 1,500 staff, making us one of the largest whole-of-market IFAs in the UK.”
Founded in 2008, Perspective has £8bn in assets under advice and provides Financial Planning services, as well as investment management services through its Cambridge affiliate.
The firm currently has 150 Financial Planners - a quarter qualified to Chartered level, 560 employees and 38 local offices across the UK.
