PFS launches 'refreshed' 2024 events programme
The Personal Finance Society (PFS) has launched a 'refreshed' events programme for 2024, involving new, large-scale events alongside online and regional series and the organisation’s flagship National Conference.
It said it designed the revamped programme based on member feedback drawn from independent research.
As well as providing additional opportunities to come together, the PFS said the new programme included more content for practitioners in a wider variety of roles and career stages.
It will offer multi-streamed events that encompass technical masterclasses balanced by skills development, career pathway workshops and interactive good practice development sessions.
The ‘PFS Digital’ offer will include a range of content delivered online, while the ‘PFS Local’ series will provide digital and in-person events up and down the country, delivered by a national network of practitioner volunteers.
The first new events will take place in February and March, around the theme of ‘Later Life Planning’ with events being held at Bishopsgate in London, Southampton, Glasgow and Manchester.
Further series will take place in June and September at venues across the UK. Each event will qualify for 4+ hours of CPD.
Meanwhile the popular PFS National Conference will be held in Manchester on 12 November. Last November nearly 1,000 attended the PFS Annual Conference at the ICC Centre near Newport, Wales despite bad weather.
The PFS said its events team will work with 'like-minded partners' to source subject specialists.
Don MacIntyre, interim chief executive of the PFS, said: “Having carefully considered feedback from our members, we have produced a programme of events that support the development of those working within the Financial Planning profession, and the varying needs associated with post-pandemic working life.
“We encourage members to explore our new style events, which have each been crafted to educate, inspire, and help to deliver excellent client outcomes.”
