Planner: Listening to clients who leave offers great insight to improve
Listening to clients that decide to leave can provide “massively useful insights”, a Financial Planner says.
Chris Daems DipPFS, the director of Cervello Financial Planning and Auto-Enrolment in a Box, told FP Today that getting feedback from departing clients is a great way to improve.
Speaking in the new Client Hunter feature in the freshly launched Financial Planning Today magazine, Mr Daems revealed what he believes the key is to long-term relationships with clients.
See below for how to access the new magazine.
He said: “What works for us is regular communication, developing a culture where clients feel they can pick up the phone and talk to you at any time and delivering on your promises. Also, we also believe it’s important to listen to the clients who don’t stay.
“Since we launched we have had a couple of clients who have decided not to continue using our service. We asked why and they gave us massively useful insights into how we improve and develop as a business moving forward.”
Among the questions and topics Mr Daems discusses in the feature are:
- His 5 top client tips
- What lead generation techniques he found to be most successful
- How he uses workshops and seminars to boost client finding
- What he thinks is the key to securing a new client and convincing them of the merits of Financial Planning
- How he got his first ever clients
- His longest served client and why they’ve stuck with him
