Premier Miton to launch European sustainable fund
Premier Miton is set to launch the Premier Miton European Sustainable Leaders Fund on 10 May.
The fund will invest in European companies offering the chance of long term sustainable growth in areas such as health and wellbeing, affordable and clean energy and technological advancement.
Invested companies will need to demonstrate sustainable business characteristics and will be analysed on a range of ESG factors, such as their contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the environmental and social impact of business and corporate governance factors.
The fund will be managed by Premier Miton’s European equities team led by head of European Equities Carlos Moreno, assisted by Thomas Brown and new hire Russell Champion, who joins Premier Miton later in 2021. The team will work with Helene Winch, Premier Miton’s head of Responsible Investing.
The investment team will look for undervalued companies that can create shareholder value through growing revenues, expanding margins and increasing return on capital.
Fund manager Carlos Moreno, head of European Equities and fund manager of the Premier Miton European Sustainable Leaders Fund and Premier Miton European Opportunities Fund, said: “We are delighted to be launching a new European specialist sustainable fund. We are very proud of what we have achieved for our clients in our established Premier Miton European Opportunities Fund, and this new fund represents an exciting development of our investment range.”
He said the fund “is clearly differentiated” from the existing fund in terms of its focus on sustainable and ESG factors but will have a similar investment philosophy.
Neil Birrell, Premier Miton’s chief Investment officer, said: “The launch of a new sustainable and ESG-focused European equity fund further expands our range of ESG and responsible investing products to cater for growing investor demand in this area. The Premier Miton European Sustainable Leaders Fund will sit alongside our global equity sustainable growth and income funds, our ethical UK equity fund and our global renewable energy investment trust.”
