Private office invests in rugby star’s IFA firm
Yorkshire-based private investment office and wealth manager Traditum has invested in Method Asset Management, an IFA founded by former professional rugby player Jonnie Whittle CFP.
The percentage of the IFA firm acquired and sum paid have not been disclosed.
Method works with business owners, high-net-worth individuals, family offices and trustees across the north of England.
The IFA provides asset management, pensions and investment advice and specialises in helping business owners looking to exit, extract their wealth and manage family succession.
David Mitchell, CEO of Traditum, said its investment in Method would help expand its service and take the firm closer to its goal of creating a since source of advice for high-net-worth families across both their private and business assets.
During his eight years as a professional rugby league and union player, Jonnie Whittle played for several successful northern teams.
He is a Certified Financial Planner and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). He founded Method in 2020.
Under the deal he will continue to lead Method’s four-strong team.
Mr Whittle said: “From my experience in sports, I know the importance of having a full team on board. Traditum’s expertise in areas such as private equity and corporate finance complements our own skills so by working in partnership, we can offer a really powerful package.”
Established in 2019 as a private equity house, Traditum recently repositioned its business as a private investment office and wealth manager. It helps clients to co-ordinate multiple advisers, giving them access to private equity investments, debt advisory and sell-side advisory services to help them exit their businesses.
