Medical screenings by LV= can now be held in policyholders’ gardens, with alternative options considered for those not wanting home visits.

The protection specialist has said they are adapting their processes to ensure policyholders get the right level of cover, while limiting the risk to them and to the Square Health practitioners they have partnered with to provide the service.

LV= said physical examinations for new personal and business protection cases will only take place where deemed necessary by underwriters.

Alternative options will be considered for those uncomfortable with home visits. Options will include using existing medical information or reducing the amount of cover.

Square Health will reduce physical contact by using telephone interviews for cases where face to face is not deemed necessary. They are also able to revert to virtual screening for life insurance applications.

New safety protocols will include social distancing, the use of PPE, single use equipment and conducting examinations in private gardens where possible. Covid-19 risk assessments will also be taken before customers can book an appointment.
