Royal London makes new senior appointment
Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) ahas appointed Phil Davey as relationship manager for London discretionary sales.
Reporting to Phil Reid, RLAM’s head of wholesale, Mr Davey will focus on the London discretionary market, working closely with existing relationships while developing new ones, the firm says.
He will cover both RLAM’s fixed income business and the more recently expanded global equities offering.
Mr Reid joined in 2016 from HSBC global asset management, where he was head of wholesale.
At RLAM, he has a mandate to grow the wholesale business and since his appointment, the team has expanded in headcount from four to 11.
Mr Davey joins RLAM after three years at JP Morgan Asset Management, where he was a relationship manager for the London and Channel Islands markets.
Prior to this, he worked at Threadneedle Investments for three years, following two years in the London discretionary team at Amundi Asset Management.
Mr Reid said: “I am delighted to welcome Phil to RLAM; his wealth of experience makes him a great fit for the team as we continue to build our wholesale proposition. RLAM is a growing business with £114bn of assets under management.
“Phil joins us at an exciting time; our net fund flows remain robust despite challenging market conditions and investor appetite for new products and initiatives continue to evolve around fixed income and equity funds.”
Mr Davey said: “I am thrilled to be joining RLAM at this pivotal time in its growth and look forward to helping grow the business further in the important London discretionary market.”
