In the north east SPW has appointed Mark Shay from Barclays Wealth to lead its business development and partnerships proposition.
He will be responsible for leading brand and marketing activities across the Yorkshire and North East region for SPW, as well as developing strategic partnerships with professional services firms.
Mr Shay joins SPW from Barclays Wealth, where he led business development in the North of England. Previously, he was part of the team that launched Metro’s new high street bank and held various other positions, including heading up Citigold Wealth Management with Citibank in London, where he worked for 12 years.
The appointments are the latest moves in a push into the regions by the Financial Planning joint venture launched by Schroders and Lloyds Bank.
In October it opened an office in Birmingham.
In September SPW expanded into Leeds with the opening of an office in the city centre.
The office will act as the regional hub to service SPW’s clients in Yorkshire and the North East.
SPW has recently established other offices and hubs in Cardiff, Bristol, Horsham, Cambridge, Oxford, Edinburgh, Exeter and Manchester.
SPW aims to become “a leading wealth management business in the UK.”
