South Wales firms offering financial surgeries in Financial Planning Week
The Institute of Financial Planning has announced seven Financial Planning firms based in South Wales will open their doors to members of the public who are in need of financial guidance as part of Financial Planning Week.
The firms – based in Cardiff, Newport, Bridgend, Swansea, Cwmbran and Taffs Well – will be offering their expertise to the general public. They will be holding free financial surgeries on selected days during Financial Planning Week which runs between 26 November- 2 December.
The consumer awareness and education campaign is organised by IFP to help people to take some simple steps and improve their financial "fitness".
The seven firms are Penguin Wealth, Heron House, Future Asset Management, Bevan and Buckland, Financial Planning Solutions, Blackstone Partners and Guardian Wealth.
Penguin Wealth will be open on 27, 28 and 30 November, Heron House on 28 November, Future Asset Management on 28, 30 November, Bevan and Buckland on 27-28 November, Financial Planning Solutions on 27 November, Blackstone Partners on 28 November and Guardian Wealth on 27, 28 and 30 November.

The firms are inviting the public to make an appointment for a one to one meeting with a Financial Planner, where they will be shown how they can take simple steps to gain control of and improve their financial situation.
The advisers will offer practical tips, tools and information on a range of topics from investments to pensions in an effort to leave people better off and feeling more positive about their financial futures.
Craig Palfrey CFPCM, director of Penguin Wealth, said: "In these challenging economic times, there are many people in South Wales who could benefit from expert financial advice, whether that's information on the best ways to save in an inflationary environment, to retire early or to find the most appropriate mortgage. This opportunity is not limited to the wealthy, either. The advisers opening their doors during Financial Planning Week can provide valuable advice to most people, whatever their situation, and help draw up both short- and long-term plans and goals.
"Everyone can improve the way they organise their finances, and doing so can make a real difference. We hear a lot about rising debt and people's lack of savings and pension provision, but we rarely hear about any positive action taken to help people to sort things out for themselves as we're doing later this month."
Nick Cann, chief executive of IFP said "It's great to see these seven firms in the South Wales region working together to offer consumers such a fantastic opportunity to consult with an expert Financial Planner and at no cost. To our knowledge, this is the first time that such an initiative has been organised in the UK."
