Succession adds M&A head from PWC
Wealth manager and Financial Planner Succession Wealth has appointed Daniel Jones as head of mergers and acquisitions.
In the newly created role, he will shape and execute Succession’s M&A strategy and oversee all M&A from origination to closure including due diligence.
Mr Jones joins from PWC’s financial services advisory team where he led the wealth management advisory team, working with clients on both the buy and sell side.
Before joining PWC, he ran his own brokerage for four years. He has also previously advised wealth management firms at UK sell-side brokers.
Mr Jones said: “M&A in the advice profession has changed significantly in the past 18 months.
“I believe that Succession – with its track record and stability through the backing of Aviva – is a uniquely attractive proposition for truly independent Financial Planning firms looking for a proposition to evolve their business to the next level for their shareholders, their clients and their teams.”
Mr Jones will report to Steve Willis, group finance director at the Financial Planning firm.
James Stevenson, CEO at Succession Wealth, said: “We are excited to welcome Daniel on board and look forward to him playing a valuable role as part of our overall team who have so successfully identified and integrated high-quality advice businesses into Succession.
“Daniel will bring expertise and additional capacity to continue to deliver our M&A strategy, which remains judicious in pursuing opportunities where we believe there is genuine strategic value for both parties.
“Currently, we are seeing significant interest as firms search for a partner with a proven track record and strong balance sheet.”
Succession has seen a number of senior appointments since its acquisition by Aviva. Other recent appointments include Dawn Buckingham as group operations director and Chris Truman as chief technology officer, both of which were announced last month.
Succession Wealth was bought by Aviva for £385m in August 2022.
Succession Wealth was established in 2009 and is a major UK wealth manager and Financial Planner. It has 16 offices in the UK and a workforce of 600, including 200 wealth planners looking after 19,000 individuals, families and corporations.
