Telephone support line for advisers needing retiree help
Advisers looking for extra help with their clients who are due to retire before April 2015 can call a new telephone support line.
LV= has launched an advice desk, manned by what it described as a "dedicated team of experienced retirement solutions specialists".
John Perks, managing director of LV= Retirement Solutions, said advisers who contact the desk will receive one-to-one telephone support from the specialists. He said: "The team can offer advisers guidance as to what they and their clients need to be aware of in the short-to-medium term, and can provide advisers with online tools to help navigate the options available.

"Today's retirees have even more income options available to them and we want to ensure that advisers and their clients take advantage of the opportunities presented by the rule changes announced in the Budget.
"We are keen to work with advisers to help them demonstrate the value of at retirement advice and have developed the LV= retirement desk as a first point of contact.
"Advisers can talk through their client's situation in detail with a specialist who can offer a personalised approach. The launch of this specialist team demonstrates our commitment to the adviser community."
The desk can provide detailed information on various income options including lifetime and enhanced annuities, fixed-term annuities and capped and flexible drawdown.
Over 4,000 adviser firms have an allocated retirement consultant with LV= already.
Alan Lakey, partner at Highclere Financial Services, whose business has worked with LV= on a pilot of the desk since the start of the year, said: "I have already made good use of this facility and it has proven to be valuable in assisting me regarding options and client choice.
"Having the ability to speak with knowledgeable people who are genuinely interested in your business is, sadly, uncommon these days."
