Tilney adds transatlantic tax team
Wealth manager and Financial Planner Tilney Smith & Williamson has appointed Adam Smith to help build a new transatlantic tax advice team.
Tilney Smith & Williamson said the firm has seen growing demand in recent years from transatlantic clients seeking advice on their US and UK tax affairs.
The Financial Planning firm said that creation of the new transatlantic tax team will enable the firm to provide an integrated tax and wealth management service for American citizens living in the UK with dual expert client teams.
Recruitment is “already well advanced” for more team members for the new venture, according to the firm.
Mr Smith is a dual qualified US and UK tax adviser, specialising in advising US-connected individuals and businesses in cross-border US and UK tax issues.
He joins from tax, accounting and businesses advisory firm Blick Rothenberg where he was a partner for three years.
He said: “I have for a long time rated highly the technical capabilities of Smith & Williamson’s tax team and am very excited about being given the opportunity to build a new US / UK tax team here.
"The US market has grown rapidly over the last few years as more Americans understand the need for professional help in meeting the growing complexities of the US and UK tax systems. Combined with Tilney’s heritage and experience managing investments for American clients, we have an opportunity to lead the market in helping US-connected clients with their tax and wealth management affairs.”
