West Lancashire Financial Planning firm Acumen Financial Partnership has attracted a strategic investment from accounting and wealth management firm One Point Advisory Services.
The amount invested by One Point has not been revealed.
Acumen Financial was founded in 2006 and has offices in Burscough and Nateby and manages around £420m of client investments.
The firm has 10 Financial Planners among its 21 staff who offer financial advice and planning, investment guidance, information on life insurance options, plus advice on pensions and equity release.
The new deal is part of a partnership-led structure and will see Acumen become part of a UK-wide group of regional champions.
Acumen’s senior leadership team, headed up by CEO Angela Maher, will remain in place and continue to run the business.
Ms Maher said: “This year is our best yet, in terms of new clients and a record turnover. One Point’s guidance and support will mean continued investment in our team.
“We have a strong board in place ready to drive the business forward backed by credible investors, making sure we continue to build a successful business fit for the future.”
One Point said it supports regional champion accountants and IFAs who want to preserve their independence as leading firms in their local market rather than becoming part of a national firm.
Ian Symes, CEO, One Point Advisory Services, said: “With Acumen Financial as partners, we can support the team with a scalable platform for growth, succession planning and partner incentivisation.
“This long-term approach strengthens the business and provides continuity for clients and teams, with the added benefit of wider group support and capability.”
One Point has invested in and supported Galloways since 2018 and Pembroke since 2019. In the North West it has invested in Mitchell Charlesworth and Pierce Business Advisory and Accountancy Group.
