Wealth manager Canaccord Wealth has agreed to acquire the UK advice arm of Switzerland's EFG Private Bank in a deal expected to close before the end of the year.
Canaccord will acquire the front office teams and client assets of the Harris Allday business.
CISI Chartered Firm EFG Harris Allday manages around £3.1bn in client assets and generated annual revenue of £20.3m in 2025. It has 77 employees.
Founded in 1834, Birmingham-headquartered EFG Harris Allday provides bespoke investment solutions for individuals, families, pensions, charities and trusts from offices in Birmingham, London and Shrewsbury. It was acquired by Swiss private banking group EFG Private Bank in 2006.
EFG Harris Allday is led by managing director, Chartered Wealth Manager and Chartered Fellow of the CISI Edward James. He joined the firm from FNZ in December 2024.
Mr James said: “The Harris Allday business has undergone significant transformation under EFG’s ownership and, as a market-leading wealth manager, Canaccord Wealth is the right fit, with the scale and capabilities, to support the business, our colleagues and clients going forward.”
Canaccord said the deal, for an undisclosed sum, would see advisers benefit from expanded capabilities and infrastructure.
David Esfandi, CEO of Canaccord Wealth (UK) said: “This acquisition is a strong strategic fit, adding to our established teams and capabilities while also expanding our footprint across the Midlands with the addition of a new office in Shrewsbury.
“Importantly, it creates an opportunity to bring our established wealth planning capability to a broader group of clients across the region. By combining EFG Harris Allday's strong client relationships and investment expertise with our Financial Planning advice, we can offer clients a truly integrated wealth management experience.”
Canaccord Wealth has assets under management (AUM) of £40.3bn (as of 31 March 2026). It has more 750 people working at its 14 offices that span the UK and the Crown Dependencies.
The firm works with private clients, professionals and charities, offering integrated wealth management services, from discretionary investment management to Financial Planning advice.
